But the festivities recently got around to the Trooping the Colour of the Horse Guards -- lots of uniforms and pageantry. (I still am not sure, frankly, why Princess Anne chose a male-oriented military uniform over the other womens' choices of dress or suit, complete with fancy hats. Oh well.)
Plus a bunch of royals watching from the balcony. (Yes, Meghan and Prince Harry were up there, too.)
In case you're curious, she has been reigning for 65 years (if you count her actual coronation) or 66 years (if you date it from her father's death, King George VI). That's two years more than Victoria, her great-great-grandmother (1937-1901).
