Peace on Earth, Good Casseroles to Men?

This showed up on Pinterest...and hey, it makes sense.

But they probably wouldn't be speaking to each other.

Monday Stuff On the Way to Other Stuff: It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like...Something

We got home from our anniversary trip, just in time for me to pack for the Colorado Quilting Council gig. It was great fun -- after all, this is my home guild, and I know many of the people in it. The class was smaller than I'm used to. So they got extra attention and goodies, as well.
Three of my appraisal clients have been waiting patiently for me to finish up with all this folderol. Then it's on to another collection Monday afternoon. Once I get this work done, I can relax a bit. Then finally we can decorate the tree we cut this past week, up on Crooked Creek.

A bargello quilt, easily accomplished with careful cutting, sewing and a jelly roll mix of fabrics.  (From Let's Quilt Something)

The latest on our quilting friend, Libby Lehman.  (From Caring Bridge)

Twelve bacon appetizers. Need I say more?  (From Who Needs A Cape)

Yeah, Baby...

One surprising thing you should do while thrift shopping.  (From Apartment Therapy) A number of helpful links are included in this post, too.

"No Irish Need Apply" WASN'T a myth, in spite of a retired history professor's insistence that it was. The person who proved him wrong? A high school student.  (From Irish Central)
Being part-Irish myself (and all mutt, basically), I take this very seriously.

Wells Fargo doesn't want any part of the lawsuits against it for faked accounts...because, the bank says, customers agreed to no arbitration when they signed the paperwork for opening an account. Does this whole mess stink? To high heaven.

Mousey knitting patterns.  No, I am not making this up. Better on the needles, than in the house! Btw, the Brick caught two more en residence -- both behind the stereo speakers. The stinkers.  (From In the Loop Knitting)

How to make powdered sugar. I don't think I'll buy it readymade again. (From Hundred Dollars A Month)

Some of Shirley Temple Black's personal items are being auctioned off.  Auction's Dec. 6, if you're interested. And in her honor:

A new blog I've just started reading: Cycling in the Sixth Decade. Seems like this woman has bicycled everywhere.

Hopefully your decorations are up and out. Have a great week.

Christmas Is Going to the Dogs!

The cats had their say. Now it's time for a canine view of the holidays.

Wanna Get Crazy This Weekend?

Come join me at the Nov/Dec meeting of the Colorado Quilt Council, my home guild.

I'll be speaking about the amazing world of Crazy quilts -- their history, connections with other quilt styles, and most of all, their incredible ability to act as a memory album of their makers' thoughts, beliefs and objects of love.

Here's the specifics -- click on this link.

The guild meeting is Dec. 3; meeting is at:

PLCC
15771 E 1st Ave, Aurora, CO 80011

Meeting starts around 10 a.m. -- my lecture begins about 11.
(There is an admission fee -- but it's not much.)

It's Raining Cats for the Holidays

Those silly felines -- what will they think of next?

Bet this kitty is thinking about wrapping things up, all right...

Dogs are next.

Put A Little Christmas Icing Into Your Life!

Waltz on over to the Christmas Goodies blog for some great (and easy) ideas for cookies, cupcakes and other goodies. (And they don't always have to be homemade, either.)  Like this one --

(Purchased Oreos or other sandwich cookies work great)

Or this:  the foundation is strawberries!

A Report from North Dakota: There May Be More To This Story, Too!

Have you heard about protests over the proposed North Dakota pipeline?

Protestors there had dogs and pepper spray sicced on them by the Cops. The Big Mean Cops.

Quietly omitted: The protestors were given quite a while to vacate. (They were squatting on private property.) No guns were used...except for the one fired by a protestor. (Thankfully, he missed.) While they were 'leaving,' they also torched a million dollars or so of property.  The protest focused on putting a pipeline under land that already HAS another pipeline in place.
Should I mention that a good many of the protestors have nothing to do with the Indian tribe -- and reservation -- this will be most affected by?

All kind of left out of the news bites, huh...

A police officer had the opportunity to visit and see for himself.  His report is here -- just click.

It's very enlightening.

Monday (er, Sunday) Stuff on the Way to Other Stuff: Forward We Go

Life goes on.       I've been saying (and feeling) this pretty much all month -- but it's true. We both had some flu-ish days...
