Monday Stuff On the Way to Other Stuff: Whew

A long and busy week is gratefully finished, including a potluck today and a candlelight concert -- 17 songs played by yours truly, the Brick and friends Bob (drums), Bert (guitar and bass) and Rebekah (vocals). Yes, we had a long nap afterwards.

This week is finishing up more reports, plus cleaning and returning the Jeep our friend generously loaned us. (So grateful for that.) Plus starting to decorate for the holidays.

Meanwhile:

Travis Hunter, a Colorado Buffs cornerback, won the Heisman Trophy!

A 500-year-old Chinese pottery shard -- found on Mt. Zion in Jerusalem. Interesting!

Were there undercover agents working the Capitol grounds on Jan. 6? The initial report said no -- but suddenly the FBI is admitting there were 26 'confidential human sources.'  Go figure.

The lady who raised nearly a million dollars over three years -- for a charity that didn't exist.

Dorothy's ruby slippers? They just sold for 32 million.

AI Granny who talks to scammers. Unfortunately, in the very next line was a Character AI chatbot who suggested kids self-harm "because it feels good," and hinted that they kill their parents. ?!????

A traditional Christmas dinner in England - complete with recipes.

Kekfesto -- a beautiful blue-printed fabric from Hungary that greatly resembles old 19th century prints. (Reminds me a lot of the South African indigoes Nancy Kirk used to offer at the then-Kirk Collection.)  Learn more about it at this museum.

Here's more, if you're curious.

Christmas sandwiches  -- 15 of them.

Amazing stories of good deeds, good animals...and good people.

Creative embroidery -- lovely.

Garth Brooks' version of THE FRIENDLY BEASTS. (One of the songs we did today)

Interesting note: this song is hundreds of years old!

Have a great week.
