An Inspirational Visit to Almeria

Oh, the places you can pick up ideas for future projects.

Like this one:

El Museo Arquelogico in Almeria, Spain, featured in a recent post from Rae Crothers' blog, A Life by Design.

Some of the mosaics featured in the"Museum of Archeology" look strangely familiar:

'Rob Peter to Pay Paul,' anyone?
Or a plain square pattern, arranged on point. Simple -- and effective.

I was also intrigued by the woven effect on one of the museum's installations:

Couldn't this be done with ribbons over a basic pieced patchwork pattern...maybe the squares design mentioned above?

There's a thought.

Be sure to read the entire post -- you'll find more attentioneers, including this wall:

Wouldn't that make a great border -- or allover pattern? I even like the 'disappearing' effect at the base.

(Many thanks to A Life By Design; permission given to use these photos.)
