The guys are still hunting. No animules yet. They arrived to a foot of snow, and more coming down. Ever since then, it's been cold temperatures (20 degrees in the camper at night), with mud in the day that refreezes at night. And only brief cellphone coverage now and then. But they all called -- and sound remarkably upbeat. Three more days of hunting season are left.
We only got a few quick squirts of rain here on the flatlands -- but a freeze the past few nights. I've bided my time by watching Mystery Science Theater, The Rifleman and cowboy movies, working on reports and Other Stuff, eating strange food combinations (canned tamales and a bowl of Rice Krispies were supper tonight), looking at furniture (bought a bed!), getting ready for the new house....
Plus a session of church, lunch and Ticket to Ride. (Yes, I got beat. Again.)
This exciting routine continues until midweek. Soldiering on -- and trying not to think about how much I'm missing the Brick.
Meanwhile:
Michigan vs. Indiana: 52-7. In spite of playing in the middle of a rainstorm, the Wolverines were very methodical --including several interceptions and some incredible trick plays by quarterback McCarthy. Go Blue!
Colorado vs. Stanford: 43-46. The Buffs had a splendid first half, but managed to give away the second...until overtime, when they finally woke up. Too little, too late.
Ah well. Go Buffs!

The Christian cake baker's case is in the Supreme Court -- again.
Jake Warner, attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) defending Phillips, said that the lawsuit from the beginning was "clearly a set-up" with the intent of "targeting" Phillips and his beliefs.
In 2018, Autumn Scardina, who identifies as transgender, asked Phillips to make a cake celebrating a gender transition – pink on the inside, blue on the outside. When Phillips declined, Scardina asked for a cake depicting Satan smoking a marijuana joint – which Phillips also declined.
During the trial phase, "Scardina promised Phillips that, were this suit dismissed, Scardina would call Phillips the next day to request another cake and start another lawsuit," legal documents state.
