The guys are still hunting. No animules yet. They arrived to a foot of snow, and more coming down. Ever since then, it's been cold temperatures (20 degrees in the camper at night), with mud in the day that refreezes at night. And only brief cellphone coverage now and then. But they all called -- and sound remarkably upbeat. Three more days of hunting season are left.
We only got a few quick squirts of rain here on the flatlands -- but a freeze the past few nights. I've bided my time by watching Mystery Science Theater, The Rifleman and cowboy movies, working on reports and Other Stuff, eating strange food combinations (canned tamales and a bowl of Rice Krispies were supper tonight), looking at furniture (bought a bed!), getting ready for the new house....
Plus a session of church, lunch and Ticket to Ride. (Yes, I got beat. Again.)
This exciting routine continues until midweek. Soldiering on -- and trying not to think about how much I'm missing the Brick.
Meanwhile:
Michigan vs. Indiana: 52-7. In spite of playing in the middle of a rainstorm, the Wolverines were very methodical --including several interceptions and some incredible trick plays by quarterback McCarthy. Go Blue!
Colorado vs. Stanford: 43-46. The Buffs had a splendid first half, but managed to give away the second...until overtime, when they finally woke up. Too little, too late.
Ah well. Go Buffs!
This sportscaster says he's never eaten a vegetable. (Jay Leno can relate.)
Plain chow mein. Easy, quick -- and you can add all sorts of stuff. (From Khin's Kitchen)

"What was a meal you loved as a kid -- but now realize your parents only made because you were poor?" Thank you, Quora.
What does a Colorado accent sound like? I'd disagree on this -- but hey. To me, it sounds like a soft combination of Texas and Oklahoma. It's hard to find, though -- most of us Coloradoans are transplants.
A Colorado canyon full of ancient messages... leads to more questions.
Dylan Mulvaney is awarded a "Woman of the Year" award by a UK magazine. Take it as you will -- I know what I think. (sigh)
Queen Thyra -- a Viking monarch who was honored on multiple runestones in Denmark. (I would have liked to meet her. On the other hand, she probably didn't hang out with peasants.)
Another cool dancing short --
Queenstown, New Zealand -- wonderful. Glow worm caves -- intriguing, but a bit creepy. (I'd still go. Thanks, Millenial Revolution.)

An art dealer buys an African mask from an elderly couple for less than $200 -- then flips it for millions. (They're suing, by the way.)
Pecan pie bars -- all sorts. (I'm drooling.)
Swiss chicken stuffing casserole. Ditto.
A copycat recipe for Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana. It's perfect for fall and winter suppers... I love this stuff. (Krispy Kreme doughnuts too, if you have a sweet tooth.) Annnnd...while I'm at it...
The Frugal Girl's bourbon chicken with broccoli. Yum.

Bigfoot spotted -- off a train journey in Colorado. This Durango-Silverton train has had previous sightings. (Naaah, says a longtime resident -- it was just a local who enjoys doing this to prank tourists.)
D-Day invasion maps discovered...in veteran's suitcase long after his death.
Incredibly stupid song lyrics:
Real-life stories that could be a movie plot.
The Christian cake baker's case is in the Supreme Court -- again.
Jake Warner, attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) defending Phillips, said that the lawsuit from the beginning was "clearly a set-up" with the intent of "targeting" Phillips and his beliefs.
In 2018, Autumn Scardina, who identifies as transgender, asked Phillips to make a cake celebrating a gender transition – pink on the inside, blue on the outside. When Phillips declined, Scardina asked for a cake depicting Satan smoking a marijuana joint – which Phillips also declined.
During the trial phase, "Scardina promised Phillips that, were this suit dismissed, Scardina would call Phillips the next day to request another cake and start another lawsuit," legal documents state.
From a similar decision:
"But, as this Court has long held, the opportunity to think for ourselves and to express those thoughts freely is among our most cherished liberties and part of what keeps our Republic strong," Gorsuch continued.
"But tolerance, not coercion, is our Nation’s answer. The First Amendment envisions the United States as a rich and complex place where all persons are free to think and speak as they wish, not as the government demands. Because Colorado seeks to deny that promise, the judgment is reversed," he concluded.
