My friend did a huge concrete job for this big time lawyer in my city. The job included a massive paved driveway, stamped and custom-designed.
After a week's work, the lawyer was so happy with the job he bought all the concrete guys a case of beer as a thank you. Then he posed with the guys for a photo.
But the instant my friend’s boss handed him the bill, he refused to pay. He said that he had photographic evidence that the crew was drinking on the job.
One guy on the crew went back and put a can of expanding foam in his perimeter drain. The lawyer had to dig up the entire driveway to find the block, replace the drainage system, and have the whole driveway repaved.
My friend’s boss also made sure every concrete company in the city knew what the lawyer did, so they’d know to turn him down when they got a call from him asking for a paving job.
