Love this idea! Would just have to figure out removing the metal sides that used to be the sliders. Brilliant! I love when people come up with these things!
I first thought about this when Edith Schaeffer said her daughter had made a crawl-in-sized dollhouse from a sideboard! (See Edith's book HIDDEN ART:

She'd taken the drawers out and 'wallpapered' with Swiss calendar photos, as well as painted little details. She also left the pegs in to act as cuphooks.
After I read that, I took an old wooden box we'd been using for storage, painted it bright red and papered the inside with landscapes from an old calendar. It was our daughters' treasured toybox for years.
