... no doubt.
Actually, I finally feel strong enough to even THINK about "no good!" This Covid business sucks the life out of you. I've started catching up on overdue work, and even tidied up the trailer a little. Which means I Put Things Away, Right Away. (gasp)
We spent the weekend helping out at Daughter #1's new house, painting and putting up drywall. We'll be doing this through August to help out. Which reminds me:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAUGHTER #1!!
We love you very much.
P.S. Strange, how for days, our Ruby tried to avoid the spot where Karma died. (Rubes is ok now...but it took a while.) Made me think of our darling Charley, who we lost this winter. (Fellow dog-lovers, you understand, don't you...)
P.P.S. A Taiwanese couple lived in student housing with us at the University of Michigan, back in the early 80s. Young Chang and his wife Marcella were dear friends who shared everything from cream puffs to their daughter An-An's christening. (She would be in her late 30s by now.) Young was an engineering student, but talked about his family owning an electronics store.
We lost contact soon after their move back to Taiwan. I've tried to find them, but their surname is too common. And we always called them by their 'American' names -- or nicknames. I wonder what they thought about Nancy Pelosi's recent visit. Are they ok? What are they doing now? Do they remember us, too?
Meanwhile...A longtime journalist reflects on the moment he felt that true journalism died. I plan on reading his memoir, And the Rest Is History, when it's released this month. You should, too.
A $100,000 diamond found on a coral reef... while on a cruise ship snorkeling trip!
People tell their favorite "didn't realize you spoke the language, too" stories. I have one of my own to add here...while camping, Daughter #2 suddenly needed to go to the emergency room. We had been out in the woods for a while, and were pretty grubby. Two German ladies noticed us, and had a long conversation about why we were so dirty, must be homeless or something else to come in so filthy, how disgusting, etc etc. I said nothing, let them talk, then got up to leave, smiled and said "Aug weidersehen" to them. ('See you later.') They looked like they'd swallowed their teeth.
Colorado Taco Bells are running the Rockies special again! The day after the Rocks have 7-plus runs, from 4-6 p.m., you can get four tacos for $2. One special per person -- and they have to actually be at the restaurant. (Drive-through is ok, too.) But this is a GREAT deal.

A visit to the Goodheart Farm. I'd still view some of these as meals on the hoof -- but that's me, Farmer's Daughter. A fun read, anyways. (From Life After Money)
