Monday Stuff On the Way to Other Stuff: Trudge, Trudge, Trudge

Hot weather in the daytime, slowly cooling at night. Even some rain! There's just a hint of fall in the air -- and it can't come too soon.

Still working on appraisals, but slowly making progress. The Brick has continued to fix repairs on the fifth-wheel. We spend a day on the weekends helping Daughter #1 and her partner work on their new home. I nab fruit and veggies whenever I can find them on sale. (Boy, the prices are higher this year.)

Just no end to the hilarity around the Brick place right now.

Recipes for people who really love french fries -- 22 of them. Recipes, I mean.

Oh, by the way -- the Farmers Almanac is predicting a colder, snowier-than-usual winter for the country, including Colorado, which it's putting in what it says the "hibernation zone."

Based on how this summer has gone -- I'm looking forward to it.

How has the tv show "The Simpsons" been able to predict what's going to happen in future events? Supposedly we'll find out in Season 34...

Cattle mutilations... again? Including southern Colorado.

"The ones I’ve been involved in, we haven’t solved any of them," says Sergeant Tom Roark of the Lake County, Oregon Sheriff’s Department. "There was no evidence, no clues of a suspect."

I know, I know. Aliens.

The commerce of 'rare earth' that's decimating Myanmar -- and showing the greedy, 'who cares' side of "green energy" businesses -- and countries.

"I'm only responsible for digging the mountain up and selling it," says one businessman "The rest is none of my business."

A dog, missing for months inside a cave, is found!

The Perseids meteor shower is starting up again. It lasts through Sept. 1...but this month's moon may interfere some with viewing.

Casa Bonita, that beloved weird hokey 'Mexican' restaurant in Denver, may still reopen. Maybe.

How to dehydrate zucchini.  (From One Hundred Dollars A Month)

Len Penzo's 14th annual brown-bag sandwich survey. Costs this year went up 27% from last!!

Some 'extraordinary' artifacts are repatriated from the U.S. back to Cambodia.

Living in Mexico -- on $1000 a month.

Ten athletes banned from competition. For good reason, it turns out. Also: ten athletes -- actually more than that -- who died during competition.

"Colorfully dyed" armpit hair how-tos.  I am not making this up.

What's it like to be swallowed by a whale? This diver knows.

Make this instead of a wreath for your autumn front door.

Have a good week.
