Monday Stuff on the Way to Other Stuff: Blessed Rain

...and a little hail, too. (Not so thrilled about that part.) Such a blessing, after days of heat. The hummingbirds have especially loved it. We see them stopping by the feeder several times an hour. Sometimes they sit on the fence up the hill and 'guard' the feeder, which is very funny.

Lots of appraisal reports have been in last week -- and this one, too. We made another trip down south to look for land, as well. But in general, it's a quiet life right now.

Daughter #2's birthday was last week.  (Happy Birthday, Petunia!!) And Daughter #1's birthday is in a few days. (Happy Birthday, Babers!)  We love you both very much.

"Summer is a promissory note signed in June, its long days spent and gone before you know it, and due to be repaid next January."

The most popular dessert during the year you were born.

Crumbly burgers -- loose meat burgers you can make for a crowd, as well.

Why did this Somali runner do such a crappy job during a national competition?  The answer is verrrry interesting.

A video has reemerged -- American soldiers liberating a train of Jews from Bergen-Belsen in the waning days of WWII.

Princess Diana's and Dodi AlFayed's 'love boat' is at the bottom of the Mediterranean.

Devon Archer's full interview. Now you can decide for yourself exactly what he testified to during his recent meeting with Congress. Was Rep. Goldman right about the "illusion of access" narrative?

I am increasingly thinking that sadly, Mark Twain was right:

"We have the best government money can buy."

Did Amber Heard ever donate the settlement she made a big deal out of promising?  The million (actually, $7 million) dollar answer: NO.

Surprising DNA test results.

The 'everyman's steakhouse' that's still serving great food -- for less.  A lot less. Colorado residents, take note!

Where Voyager 1 & 2 are now -- they've been out in space since 1977. Amazingly, NASA is still getting a 'heartbeat' and information from both spacecraft!! (If you only link to one post, make it this one. Fascinating.)

The worst Dad jokes and puns in the universe... groan while you laugh! And some more here...

Posts that took a weird turn at the very end.

Forty thousand pounds of chocolate...dripping all over a California highway. (The truck caught on fire.)

Lunch Lady Land...inspired by a post a few weeks ago. This one deserves to be seen in full form.

(My darling Aunt Max was the lunch lady in charge at high school -- and I worked many times as a cashier to earn that free lunch. Actually, the food was quite good.)

And this one -- a very cool Cadbury commercial. I'm just not sure how it fits with candy bars, though.

And while we're at it -- another very funny commercial, at least for us girls. Welcome to the doghouse.

Weird behind-the-scenes movie facts.

Red velvet cake -- a vintage recipe worth exploring again. (From Sally's Baking Addiction)

A Pinterest site full of diet recipes.  (Thanks, The Prudent Homemaker.)

Scams -- that worked!  (Sadly.)

Tips to help pay your mortgage off -- fast.  (From Thrifty Frugal Mom)

Have a great week.
