Monday Stuff On the Way to Other Stuff: DONE (Stick a Fork In Me...)

(That's what the Brick enjoys saying)

Yes, Gentle Readers, I am finally reaching the Promised Land. By the time I head for bed tonight, the photo captions, photos and index will be turned in. The text went last Tuesday, after working all weekend/Monday night, and the Bibliography went last night.
I'm not sure if you're that interested in the specifics...but I sure am relieved. I don't feel happy it's done, or sad that it's over. Just relieved.

Now for the first edit, in a few weeks. I don't usually write with many typos...something about the editor in me. But there are always a few.

This week will be finishing off a big batch of appraisals, returning a boatload of books and videos -- and cleaning up this messy, hairy fifth-wheel. Including showers and toenail trims for Charley and Ruby -- they're going to hate it.

Some really odd mysteries, including...a modern Griffin?  You go, Listverse.

APPRAISER ALERT:  Harry Macklowe and ex-wife Linda Macklowe's art collection goes under the hammer next spring. It includes one of Andy Warhol's "Marilyn" prints and some other gems, with a total value of more than $700 million. Since art prices have tanked somewhat in 2019-2020, this will be a good one to watch for valuable 'comps.'
Speaking of, this next one is a good historical look at:

Tiffany Silver during the Columbus Exposition. One of my favorite world fairs -- 1893.

A new Michigan treasure hunt -- start looking!

Nearly a third of 45 large companies during the pandemic gave their eecutives hefty bonuses -- just before those companies went bankrupt. In some cases, the bonus arrived just a few days before the paperwork was filed. If I were a company shareholder, I'd be yelling blue murder about this.

Hilarious street posters. They are funny, too...

This is our dog Ruby's favorite threat, too.

Forty no-bake Christmas treats. (If they make it to the freezer, that is. From Taste of Home)

Lesson learned: don't ship cocaine-stuffed coffee beans...and reference John Wick!

A four-story fall from an air-conditioning unit...and the kid is caught by a passerby. Locked his grandma out of the apartment, and climbed out the window. What a brat.

The National Museum for African-American History and Culture removes its "chart of whiteness." Some very interesting statements were made on the chart, as far as assigning attributes to white people -- and black. (I would have felt insulted, either way.)

Billy Joel tries out a discarded piano left out on the street:

An interesting blog, www.weburbanist.com .

Please tell me you weren't taken in by any of these.  (Click on the link to find out.)

Looks like the Goya Foods boycott isn't going so well... oopsies. More here, too.

Killer squirrels -- in embroidery.

AQS has a free quilt pattern -- Dancing Ribbons by Beverly Matilla.

Executives who lied on their resumes -- 17 of them!   Plus...

Ten more executives who lied -- and two who got away with it.

Mafia types' favorite recipes. (Yes, most are Italian. Is that racist? But true... thanks, Ranker)

The world's five largest gold nuggets.

Christmas in July...from years gone by. A quilting recap from my Aussie friend, News From Jude.

Mom and ducklings make it  -- thanks to a protective line of New Yorkers blocking the street.

Eight underground cities. I've been writing about this subject for The Book...

The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is in serious trouble...  no doubt it's not the only foundation struggling in these Covid-19 days.

A whole blog dedicated to famous mistresses.

Have a good week.

Maybe she's one...
