This wonderful folk art fair has happened several years now. This year, it's happening at the Wyoming Territorial Prison Historic Site in Laramie, Wyoming, Sept. 17-18.
Want to see Native American dancers?
Llamas dressed for a parade?
Animal husbandry...falconers...
Bands, doing everything from funk to mariachi?
Cultural foods?
Artisans teaching lacemaking, weaving and quilting?
And all sorts of wonderful classes, demos and products from homesteading and other rural living, gardening, crafts and textiles -- plus a quilt show.
The Higher Ground Fair is the only place you're going to get this crazy, wonderful mix of culture, crafts, home and garden ideas. It's great fun.
Yours truly will be there, judging the quilt competition and giving a lecture on how to date your quilt, based on its fabrics, construction and style. Plus what to look for in prizewinning quilts.
I'll be offering appraising too, at a discounted rate.
Come on over this weekend -- the Fair is Saturday and Sunday. Go here for more, including directions and hours.
Do stop and say hi.
