Monday Stuff On the Way to Other Stuff: Headed Home

We haven't been back to Colorado since Halloween, except for a quickie back-and-forth trip to empty a storage unit. I love seeing family and friends in Michigan; I do. But it helps to be able to bring our home along with us, thanks to the fifth-wheel: sleep in our own bed, cook breakfast when we want, and stay up late to work.

We'll park at our usual spot for a few weeks, work on some final projects (including my new book), and still be able to spend Christmas with our kids. Wonderful.

It will mean 14 or so hours of driving to get to Colorado...but we can do that, after some errands in Tucson.

Meanwhile:

Ten people (or groups of people) who sacrificed their lives for others...including 35 brave engineers of the Titanic.  (From Listverse)

How do you proceed when you're fine -- but your partner's in serious debt? (From The Frugalwoods)

Floor class...or first class? Ask Greta Thunberg whether she fibbed. Now she's saying she likes to sit on the floor, instead of implying that there was no other room. (Oh, and she didn't mean anything negative by it, either. Sure she didn't...)

Simple last-minute hostess gifts(From Thistlewood Farms)

Ten great frugal 'Mom' blogs -- including several I read regularly. (Thanks, Retire At 37.)

Practically every holiday appetizer you could want -- including crescent dogs. (We call these 'pig in the blankets.'  From Betty Crocker)

Human bones discovered at the Alamo. Apparently they haven't all been tidied up yet...

Hibachi chicken and Shrimp -- the recipe. Yummy.  (The Frugal Girl)
     With yum-yum sauce!

Joe Burrow wins the Heisman Trophy 'by a landslide.'

The world's first 3-D printed community...and fifty low-income Mexican families get to move in! Shoot, I'd live in these pretty little houses, too.

Mrs. Trollope and the quilting frolic. A look at parties past by Barbara Brackman's Material Culture.

A teen finds her long-lost cat -- while volunteering at an animal shelter.

More than 234,000 voter registrations are toast in Wisconsin -- if the judge's ruling is final, that is. (They're thought to have moved.) On the other hand, 140,000+ registrations have been restored in Kentucky -- for inmates convicted of 'nonviolent' crimes who've completed their sentences.

An 18,000-year-old puppy emerges from the permafrost, fur and face intact. Not as old as the 42,000-year-old foal also found recently...but still intriguing.

Weird facts about the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash. I've always wondered what these guys would have done, had they lived.

And in case you're wondering, here we are, at our Colorado spot:

Charley, investigating (and wondering about the deer just up the hill)

Have a great week.
